Preparing to Fly

I am the planner in our family. This works out incredibly well for my husband, Brantley, because he hates having to deal with details.

Getting everything ready to move to another continent takes quite a bit of work and often the task can appear quite daunting.

Like how to fit this:

into this:

Somehow it all came together. Everything we needed fit, and we drove a car and a small box truck from Texas to North Carolina in order to say our goodbyes (kids did great- no major issues at all).  Since then, all our paperwork was approved, and our tickets have been purchased.  We are really moving to Pretoria, South Africa…. in 4 days.  It still does not feel real and I am not sure it will until we are on the airplane.

We have been spending as much quality time with friends and family as possible while we are in transition.  Wonderful celebrations always make it so hard to leave and I am so thankful we have a few days left!

Besides just posting updates about daily life and how things are different, I decided to have people issue me challenges. At several of our functions, I’ve been handing out cards for people to submit ideas of things I have to accomplish while in South Africa. I’ve promised to post completed challenges on this blog.
